Icona del design industriale da quasi un secolo, lo sgabello H di Tolix ha attraversato epoche e stili per diventare un classico iscritto nella memoria collettiva, un "patrimonio vivente" che illustra l'arte di vivere francese... Incarnazione dello stile moderno degli anni 30-50, lo sgabello H si è imposto per la sua solidità e la sua gran leggerezza. Impilabile, soddisfa perfettamente le esigenze di razionalizzazione dello spazio. La sua estetica raffinata e la sua grande funzionalità lo presentò a una prestigiosa carriera di successo. Presente in numerose terrazze caffè prima di entrare nella sfera privata degli anni '50. Simbolico e democratico, l'arredamento Tolix segna una tappa significativa nella storia del design. Tutto il merito va al suo designer Xavier Pauchard che ha usato per la prima volta lamiera stampata e zinco per la produzione di mobili prodotti in serie. Oggi, l'azienda ha acquisito macchine digitali ad alte prestazioni che accompagnano molte operazioni manuali e l'utensileria ereditata dalla storia. Ogni sgabello che esce dall'atelier è unico e porta la firma Tolix impressa nel metallo. E' con autentico riconoscimento che Tolix ha ricevuto nel 2006, l'etichetta di "Azienda del patrimonio vivente" conferita dal Ministero dell'Economia, delle Finanze e dell'Industria. In lamiera d'acciaio grezzo con vernice trasparente brillante, questo sgabello alto (H 75 cm) non è galvanizzato e non può dunque essere utilizzato in esterno. Esiste anche in acciaio inox laccato a polvere. In questa versione con vernice trasparente, i punti di saldatura sono volutamente visibili al fine di comunicare un'idea artigianale e mettere in evidenza l'estetica grezza del prodotto.
